Discipline Plan:

Attendance:

You are expected to be in class every day.  There may be circumstances that will keep you out at sometime. Please follow the school’s attendance procedures and policies.  Excessive excused on unexcused absences may result in a lower grade or no credit. State laws states that ff you are absent for more than ten (10) days you won’t receive credit for the class.

You are expected to be in class on time. Excused tardies will be allowed if detained by the office or any scheduled appointments. Unexcused tardies will be documented and referred to detention as well as being retained in class equal to the minutes you are late.

Assignments:

All assignments are due on time.  If you plan to be out or if you are ill, get assignments prior to or during your absence and keep up.

Make Up Policy:

Homework – You are allowed two days to turn in homework once it has been given; however, there will be a 10% point deduction thereafter for each day it is delayed.  It is expected you will do your homework daily as you learn by doing and practicing the concepts.

Quizzes – Quizzes will be given on a regular basis except during exam week.  If you are absent on a quiz day, you have one day to make up the quiz.

Class expectations and rules:

As a rule, no one will be allowed to leave the room after the bell rings.  Use the bathroom before school, during breaks and the lunch period. If you have to see the counselor or principal, you must bring your appointment verification to class.  Be on time and ready to work.

Tardies – Tardy students will stand at the back of the room for 15 minutes on the first offense, s30 minutes on the second offense and will receive a referral on the third offense.

The bell does not dismiss students; I dismiss students.  Do not anticipate the end of the period by putting away your books and materials.  I will tell you when it is time to leave.

Neatness – Keep the classroom clean at all times, therefore, no walkmans, no caps/hats, no sunglasses, and no food items of any kind. You are responsible for your area and your items. No writing on walls, desks, books, etc. Neat work is expected meaning legibility, readability, and quality.

Respect – Respect for teacher and other students is expected at all times.  Be polite and positive. I will treat you as mature young adults and expect you to act accordingly.  All rules apply to substitutes.

Misconduct – Profanity nor foul language will be tolerated.  Any misbehavior or actions (fighting, verbal or physical abuse, etc.) will be resolved by the instructor, administrator(s), and/or a parent conference.

Grades:

Your 9-week grade(s) will be determined as follows:

30%  - homework / class work assignments

25%  - test/quiz scores

20%  - mini projects/activities

15%  - final exam

10%  - participation

Have a great and productive school year!
